Bajan Water Project
Here are the issues
Water Quality
Water quality in Barbados can range from pure, clean, tasty drinking water to contaminated and foul water unsuitable to drink. Over the last 10 years, many communities have experienced water quality issues and continue to struggle with accessing clean and safe water in their homes.
Water Accessibility
Barbados is the 15th most water scarce nation on the planet and access to water is becoming the most threatened right of our people. Water outages are unfortunately a common occurrence in many communities and although some provisions for access have been made, many still face day to day obstacles to access water.
Transparency
Citizens of Barbados currently lack readily available information or scientific data about the quality of our drinking water. Additionally, there is no comprehensive system that citizens can access for communications on relevant developments or projects that are being undertaken around the island.
Our Pledge
Bring awareness to the global community about how climate change is affecting our small island.
Gather important scientific data about our water quality to understand what our communities are consuming, while encouraging the key institutions to provide consumers with transparency and access to data.
Work together with communities and individuals to provide on the ground solutions to this ongoing crisis.
